Truven-Tree-10There's a new tree in front of Bethesda North that symbolizes dedication to top quality patient care.

TriHealth leaders and team members gathered in front of the hospital Tuesday, April 8, to celebrate being named a Truven 100 Top Hospital.

This is the fifth time Bethesda North has won the award, which recognizes hospitals that provide the highest level of value to their communities, based on a national balanced scorecard that weighs public data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid across 10 performance areas.

The focal point of the celebration was the dedication of the "Truven Tree." A tree was chosen to represent the award because the traditional fifth anniversary gift is wood.

TriHealth President and CEO John Prout congratulated and thanked the assembled team members for their dedication "to high quality care and working as a team that made the award possible."

According to Bethesda North Executive Director of Hospital Operations Barb Boyne, the tree that was planted is a Linden tree.

"A very large Linden tree used to stand in front of the hospital, but had to be removed to make way for a new driveway. We're replacing that today."
