Bethesda North has received Primary Stroke Center Advanced Certification by The Joint Commission (TJC), a nationally recognized independent nonprofit that accredits and certifies thousands of health care organizations and programs.
Reviewed every two years, the certification, provided through TJC's Disease-Specific Care Certification Program, proves that Bethesda North continues to provide safe, high quality care, treatment and services to its patients.
"We are very proud of our staff for the exceptional care they give to our stroke patients and their dedication to the development of our stroke center," said Stefanie Newman, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. "We are looking forward to continued advancement in the area of stroke."
To receive Advanced Certification for Disease-Specific Care Certification, an organization must meet clinically specific requirements and address:
- Compliance with consensus-based national standards;
- Effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and
- An organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.
