Applications are now available for awards from the Mary Ann McGrath Nursing Education Endowment Fund, named for a former Good Samaritan nurse.

Funds are awarded twice each year to Good Samaritan nurses to advance or enhance nursing knowledge by helping to pay for a seminar, college textbooks, tuition or other educational experience.

Plans for use of the funds must be specified and itemized on the application. Applicants' answers to two brief essay questions are considered when awarding funds.

Funds awarded in June must be used between June 11, 2014 and Dec. 10, 2014.
