This year's Good Samaritan Gala, put on by the Good Samaritans, brought in a record $531,000, which will go toward comprehensive breast cancer program development, Good Samaritan and the Medical Education Research Fund.

More than 760 supporters of the foundation gathered at the Horseshoe Casino for the 30th annual event, to the theme of "After 30 Years, Let's Roll the Dice and Stir Things Up."

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical and Dental staff underwrote the entertainment and room décor for the evening, and Claire B. Phillips underwrote the dinner entrée. Other corporate sponsors included AK Steel Corp., Fifth Third Bank, Group Health Associates, Macy's, Phillips Supply Co., SC Ministry Foundation, Sisters of Charity and TriHealth.

Co-chairs of this year's event were Pamela Rossmann and Patty Bassano, who worked with event committee volunteers and physician champion Jose Barreau MD.

The Good Samaritans is a dedicated volunteer organization of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation and includes members with ties to the medical and business community. The group has raised more than $6 million in its history.
