Area medical professionals gathered at the Manor House in Mason on Saturday, Sept. 14, and took a deep dive into the varied aspects of cardiac amyloidosis, including the inherent racial disparities. Chair Sateesh Kesari MD and Co-Chairs Kamal Shemisa MD and Leonid Khokhlov, MD, orchestrated the day of presentations, case studies, and discussions. The nearly 100 registered included physicians, APPs, nurses, residents, and clinical team members from advanced heart failure, cardiology, nephrology, imaging, palliative care, family practice and more, coming from across the region.
The agenda was chock full of comprehensive presentations from TriHealth professionals and was highlighted with guest speakers Trejeeve Martyn, MD MSc, AHF-TC, and Andres Carmona Rubio, MD, cardiologists from Cleveland Clinic. Attendees walked away, not only with continuing medical education credits, but a stronger understanding of many aspects of cardiac amyloidosis.
The offering was officially endorsed by the Heart Failure Society of America. An educational grant provided by Pfizer made the day possible, as did support from the Bethesda Foundation and various sponsoring vendors.
Would love to see this information. My mother died of it and my sister was just diagnosed with it. Please let me know if this was recorded .
