Eight TriHealth Laboratory Sites were thoroughly inspected by representatives of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in September and November of 2024.

  • TriHealth Anderson
  • TriHealth Kenwood
  • McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital

The CAP accreditation process is designed to ensure accurate laboratory results to provide patients with the highest standard of care. The stringent CAP accreditation process verifies that TriHealth laboratories meet or exceed CAP, CLIA, FDA, TJC and OSHA standards. The CAP inspection process includes reviews of laboratory records, processes and procedures, quality control, staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety, and overall management.

  • The laboratories were evaluated using 91 checklists addressing more than 12,000 requirements.
  • The inspectors cited 43 deficiencies, corresponding to 0.4% of the total number of requirements.
  • 5% of these deficiencies were corrected onsite during the course of the inspection.
