March 05, 2024
International Women’s Day is celebrated across the globe on March 8 and is a day for acknowledging the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This day also calls for the action of ensuring we continue the fight in advancing women's equality.
The 2024 theme of International Women’s Day is “Inspire Inclusion”. At TriHealth, our mission is to improve the health status of those in our community. This mission is impossible without valuing, empowering, and including the incredible women in our workforce, as well as ensuring that we focus on women’s health equity by continuing to keep our Women’s Services lines as the best option for women-oriented care in our region.
The past and present achievements of women in our society are limitless. But specific to our industry, the Healthcare landscape would not be where it is without the contributions of the women in it. Women such as Henrietta Lacks, whose cells were researched and led to many medical breakthroughs, including the polio vaccine, AIDS and cancer treatments, and genome sequencing. In more recent history, Dr. Kizzmekia S. Corbett is a research fellow and the scientific lead for the Coronavirus Vaccines & Immunopathogenesis team whose research led to the creation of the first COVID-19 Vaccine that was being tested at trials just 2 months into the pandemic.
At TriHealth, we live the International Women’s Day theme of “Inspire Inclusion” every single day. It is in our promise to help others be seen, be heard, and be healed. It is in our mission and our vision. And we recognize the immense value the women in our workforce bring each and every day. So, thank you to the Women of TriHealth. We acknowledge and honor the contributions that you make every single day.
