Hi Team –

Well, the holiday season is in full swing, and last week’s snow has us “dreaming of a White Christmas!” But whatever the weather, the holidays will be filled with so many reasons to celebrate and give thanks! As we approach the new year, we do so with growing momentum in our journey from Good to Great to achieve breakthrough, industry-leading performance across all of our Pillar goals – all to consistently deliver on our brand promise of “surprisingly human care!”

So before we take time away to celebrate the holidays with loved ones, I hope you will join us today for a Special Holiday Town Hall at noon on Bridge! We will be discussing our latest progress in Getting Healthcare Right and showcasing many of the amazing “wins” taking place throughout our system because of YOU!! Here are a few highlights…

TriHealth to Serve as THE Major Clinical Teaching Partner for Xavier University College of Medicine

  • As shared earlier this year, TriHealth has been working closely with Xavier University over the past 18 months as they prepare to launch the nation’s first Jesuit university-sponsored College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM). The XU COM will welcome its first class in the Fall of 2027.
  • So as the countdown to 2027 begins, I was honored to represent TriHealth recently, along with other business, community, and physician leaders from across the region – including XU President Colleen Hanycz, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, and TriHealth Board Vice Chair Mike Michael – at the ceremonial groundbreaking of the new COM on XU’s campus.
  • And I’m thrilled to share that the Boards of our two organizations – TriHealth and XU – have endorsed a bold expansion of our more than 20-year partnership, in which TriHealth will serve as the Major Clinical Teaching Partner for XU COM.
  • Our role as Major Clinical Teaching Partner will include an expansion of our Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) programs to assist XU to both meet accreditation requirements and provide exceptional clinical rotations for third and fourth-year medical students.
  • This will include establishment of new residencies in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology at Bethesda North Hospital and Psychiatry at Good Samaritan Hospital while increasing the size of the General Surgery residency at Good Sam.
  • A BIG thank you to our GME program directors and system physician leaders for helping to guide the development of this transformative partnership that will:
    • Create a strong, local “pipeline” of future physicians who are invested in our community and region, and because of their local training, will be more likely to practice at TriHealth and in Greater Cincinnati.
    • Enhance TriHealth’s reputation as a leading teaching institution with an expanded academic and research mission.
    • Foster a learning culture of continuous clinical improvement grounded in the TriHealth Way.
    • Help meet the predicted community need for physicians, particularly primary care physicians.

TriHealth Recognized as One of Nation’s Top Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) by Anthem

  • As yet another shining indicator of TriHealth’s emergence as a national leader and a model for Getting Healthcare Right, I’m pleased to share that Anthem, the nation’s second largest health insurance company, has recognized TriHealth with its inaugural Care Provider Recognition Program Award!
  • TriHealth was one of just 19 hospitals and healthcare systems from thousands in the nation to receive this distinction!
  • Fewer than 5% of care providers in Anthem’s Medicare Advantage (MA) network qualified for this program based on key care metrics delivered to Anthem’s Medicare Advantage (MA) members over the past three years, including early detection and preventive care, chronic disease management, and medication adherence, among others.
  • This recognition is yet another proof point of the progress TriHealth is making in transforming healthcare for the better through population health and value-based care delivery.
  • Because of our commitment to provide the right care in the right place at the right time to deliver the right outcomes at the right cost, our patients are healthier, care is safer and more accessible and our services are more affordable. And that is Getting Healthcare Right!

McCullough-Hyde Named Among Nation’s Best Maternity Hospitals by US News

  • U.S. News and World Report released its list of 2025 Best Hospitals for Maternity, and I’m pleased to share that McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital (MHMH) was one of just four hospitals in the region to earn the top “High Performing” rating!
  • MHMH performed better than industry benchmarks on a combination of eight objective quality measures. Fewer than half of the 800+ hospitals participating in this survey earned this rating.
  • Congratulations to ALL of our TriHealth physicians and team members supporting maternity care at MHMH and throughout our entire system for your incredible talents and hard work that resulted in this impressive achievement and our collective work to Get Healthcare Right!

Another week, another round-up of achievements that further reinforce we have the absolute BEST healthcare team anywhere!! THANK YOU for everything you do to help TriHealth lead the way – regionally and nationally – in bringing better care, better health, and better value to ALL those we serve!
