Hi Team –

In my last Weekly Update, I shared a few system-level highlights of our 2024 Engagement Survey results. And as promised, this week, I’ve put together a short video to provide you with a more complete summary of some of the key system-level findings and share a little about what they mean and what’s next. Click here to view the video and learn more about our 2024 Engagement Survey results.

Tennis, Anyone?

  • Cheers to our 20 lucky team members who have each won a pair of tickets to next week’s Cincinnati Open tennis tournament. Click here to see the list of winners, randomly selected from more than 1,000 entries!
  • And a BIG congratulations to Liezl Romero, Perioperative/Procedural Registered Nurse at Bethesda North, who was randomly selected from our winners to join me at Center Court to flip the ceremonial coin next Tuesday evening before the evening’s matches!

Order Your Tickets TODAY for the TriHealth Summer Celebration at Kings Island!

  • Later this morning, team members, physicians and volunteers can order their two complimentary tickets to our TriHealth Summer Celebration at Kings Island on Sunday, September 8.
  • And this year, based on your feedback, we are cutting the price of the already discounted additional tickets in half from $20 to $10, and you can purchase up to four extra tickets for friends and family!
  • Each ticket includes free parking, admission to Kings Island, a Single Meal Deal (1 entrée + 1 side + 1 fountain drink), and complimentary drinks throughout the park all day!
  • And don’t forget, the park will be closed to the public, so it will be less crowded with shorter waits for rides, which means more fun for our TriHealth family!

TriHealth Heart & Vascular Institute Leadership Transition

  • Under the leadership of Mark Witte, Vice President of Clinical Service Lines, THVI has experienced significant growth, expanded access to cardiovascular care and the introduction of new services and technologies to improve access, patient experience and clinical outcomes.
  • In addition, he has also been instrumental in providing strong leadership, strategic vision and operations rigor for the TriHealth Cancer and Blood Institute (TCBI), which has experienced similar growth in recent years, and today, is the largest and most respected provider of cancer care in the region!
  • The impressive growth trajectory of both THVI and TCBI, coupled with the bold strategic growth plans for each Institute in the years ahead, have made it clear that both THVI and TCBI now require dedicated leadership.
  • So, following a thorough selection and interview process, I’m pleased to announce that Matthew Lehn has been appointed to the role of Vice President of the TriHealth Heart and Vascular Institute (THVI) and TriHealth Ventures.
    • Matthew will partner in a dyad leadership structure with Dr. Stephen Lewis, THVI Physician Executive and System Chief.
    • Mark Witte will continue to lead TCBI in partnership with TCBI Physician Executive and System Chief, Dr. James Maher. Mark will also take on additional system-level responsibilities for program development and strategic partnerships.
    • This will ensure continued strong clinical and physician leadership and expert professional management over both THVI and TCBI!
  • Matt is well known to TriHealth and our culture, as he served as President and CEO of TriHealth Rehab Hospital, a partnership with Select Medical.
  • Matt will also provide administrative and business leadership over our 13 joint ventures, which range from Beacon Ambulatory Surgery Centers to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Fetal Care Center to TriHealth Rehab Hospital to our Shared Laundry and Laboratory with St. Elizabeth’s, and many others.
  • Please join me in:
    • Welcoming Matt to this new role with TriHealth,
    • Thanking Mark for his strong clinical service line leadership, and
    • Wishing both Matt and Mark continued success in leading these critical clinical service lines for our system!

TriHealth Again Serves as Presenting Sponsor of Black Family Reunion

  • Vital to Getting Healthcare Right is proactively addressing health disparities to improve health equity.
  • One important way we do this is by building an inclusive culture which mirrors our increasingly diverse community and fostering a sense of belonging and trust among ALL members of the communities we serve.
  • As another example, among many others, of our deep commitment to do this, TriHealth will, once again, serve as the presenting sponsor of the 36th Annual Midwest Black Family Reunion, held August 15-18.
  • BFR is one of our country’s oldest and largest celebrations of Black families, culture, and history, featuring a variety of fun activities and educational events throughout the week leading up to the signature outdoor festival at Sawyer Point.
  • It also provides a great opportunity for TriHealth to connect with the African American community and to promote our health and wellness initiatives while raising awareness to the importance of health screenings and preventive care.
  • Last week, I was joined by Dr. Thomas Shockley, TriHealth Chief Equity Officer, and Tracey Artis, Executive Director of the BFR, for the Sponsors Kick-Off, which we hosted at TriHealth’s Baldwin building!
  • Visit Bridge to learn more about this year’s BFR events, TriHealth’s involvement, and how YOU can get involved!

Because of our collective hard work and contributions as One Team, TriHealth Strong, we are now demonstrating on a daily basis our leadership in Getting Healthcare Right – both in our region and across our industry! And while that gives us so much to be proud of, at the top of this list is – and always will be – our people who are making it all happen!! THANK YOU for being the absolute BEST healthcare team anywhere!!
