Following a thorough selection and interview process, Lorraine Stephens, MD, has accepted the position of our next Vice President of Academic Affairs effective August 1, 2024.
With this transition, Steven Johnson, MD, who has held this role since 2015, will be returning to clinical practice while remaining active in GME with a faculty role within the Department of Ob/Gyn.
Having over 20 years of experience with TriHealth, Dr. Stephens has previously served as Bethesda Family Practice Residency Program Director, Medical Director of TPHO and most recently, System Chief for Family Medicine. She is a Family Medicine Physician by background who has served on a variety of committees, including TriHealth’s Board of Directors from 2022-2024.
As Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Stephens will lead GME in developing future physician leaders through an academically rigorous and supportive learning environment, ensuring residents and fellows are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to deliver exceptional patient care. She will be instrumental to TriHealth’s relationship with Xavier University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), which is scheduled to welcome its inaugural class in the Fall of 2027. Through her leadership, we will develop and expand our GME programs so that TriHealth can serve as major clinical teaching partner to the COM.
Congratulations to Dr. Stephens in this new role with TriHealth and thanks to Dr. Johnson for his strong leadership over the past 9 years.
