The Bethesda Auxiliary together with Bethesda leadership regularly honor a Bethesda team member or department for outstanding service. 

 

For September, the honor of the AUX Award went to Jake Dejonckheere from the Bethesda North Engineering & Maintenance Department. 

 

Jake was honored for his responsiveness and ingenuity under pressure in solving a major engineering and maintenance issue for Bethesda North Hospital.  When a problem arose due to construction at Bethesda North, Jake quickly took action to prevent the loss of the HVAC system and prevented the potential cancelation of surgeries and Cath lab cases.  He went above and beyond in his ability to think quickly and swiftly to create a solution so that patients and team members were not adversely affected.
