TriHealth Bridge

March 20, 2023

One of our core values at TriHealth is “Respect for our Spiritual Heritage,” especially as we are rooted in the faith traditions of our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity and the Methodist Deaconesses. Here at TriHealth, we are currently inviting our current TriHealth team members and community volunteers to become trained as Catholic Communion Ministry Volunteers and Spiritual Care Volunteers. Our Catholic Communion volunteers bring communion to our patients throughout our hospitals. Our spiritual care volunteers provide a gentle listening ear to our patients, listening to their sacred stories and providing hospitality.

If you are Catholic and you are already trained as a Communion Minister in your home parish, please let us know! We would love to have you serve as a communion minister. If you haven’t yet been trained as a communion minister in your home parish, we plan on hosting a special training on Saturday, May 6, from 9 a.m. – Noon at Good Samaritan Hospital, with a special blessing and commissioning at the end of the training.

For our team members: we invite everyone, regardless of spiritual or faith tradition, to consider serving as a Spiritual Care Volunteer. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity if you have a heart for listening and allowing patients to share their stories and reflect on their spiritual journey. For both of these volunteer opportunities, you can serve as little as a few hours per month to as much as possible. Volunteers can self-schedule their availability.
