TriHealth Bridge

December 19, 2023

On December 13, the Bethesda Women’s Giving Circle held its second annual Holiday Dinner and Awards at Cooper Creek Event Center in Blue Ash.

The event, which was hosted by Bethesda Foundation, gave members of the Giving Circle the opportunity to hear 3 presentations about programs benefiting women. At the end of the evening, members voted to award $30,000 in pooled funds to the the OB Gyn Center at Bethesda North Hospital, which provides OB and GYN care to underserved women in the Northern tier of the TriHealth System.

The OB GYN Center serves 2,500 patients annually, totaling 10,500 encounters and 900 deliveries per year. 100% of the patients are eligible for Medicaid or a sliding fee based on income and 40% of the patients are Spanish speaking.

Tonya Hurst, Director of Perinatal Programs at TriHealth, and Patricia Gollen, Case Manager at the North OB Gyn Center, accepted the award.

The Bethesda Women’s Giving Circle was created in May 2022 to give women the opportunity to become philanthropists through collective giving that supports Bethesda Hospitals while focusing on current health issues facing women.

Membership in the Circle is made up of women who give at the $1,000 level or more each year. The Circle currently has 31 members and is open to any woman interested in joining.
