National Doctors’ Day is celebrated annually on March 30. It’s the opportunity to thank our frontline healthcare heroes – not only for the exceptional clinical care they provide, but also for their empathy, patience, and advocacy for their patients’ health and well-being.

Since Good Samaritan’s founding in 1852, our physicians have been serving the Greater Cincinnati community, committed to providing the best care possible. It is true that Good Sam is the most established and largest private teaching healthcare facility in the area. However, what truly differentiates us is the one expression nearly always mentioned by patients when referring to our physicians: compassion.

This past fall, Good Samaritan Foundation embarked on the largest comprehensive fundraising effort in the hospital’s history. As we broke ground on a new, expanded center that will house the hospital’s key areas, Forever Forward was launched. Forever Forward is a relentless commitment to the Good Samaritan way of compassionate care. This compassionate care is fueled by our physicians. Every day, Good Sam physicians display care and skill in our three hospital locations and affiliated care sites.

This year, grateful patients and families said “thank you” for this compassionate care by making gifts to Good Samaritan Foundation in honor of their Good Samaritan physicians. This year set an all-time record, honoring 199 physicians for National Doctors’ Day 2023!
