Since 1995, the Auxiliary of Bethesda Hospital has recognized a Bethesda volunteer with the Betty J. Turner Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award. This year, 9 volunteers were nominated for this award by departments in the Bethesda region.

We are happy to announce the 2022 Outstanding Volunteer of the Year is Loren Hoffmann, nominated by Bethesda Butler.

As a Unit Helper in the Inpatient Unit at Bethesda Butler, Loren was recognized by a grateful family for the way she interacted with their father. It meant so much to “know that he was in good hands [and] also caring hands,” they wrote.

Loren is also a team member in the Bethesda North ED. Congratulations to Loren and thank you to all of our volunteers!

The nominees are pictured here along with last year’s Volunteer of the Year, Mark Ossege:
