Like an emerald, this precious Broadway gem infuses L. Frank Baum’s The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with a dazzling mix of rock, gospel and soul music. The Wiz JR. is a vibrant take on Dorothy’s adventures through the Land of Oz and a fun, family-friendly musical that is considered one of the most popular and creative theatrical adaptations of all time. Packed with iconic songs like “Ease On Down the Road” and “Brand New Day,” this musical includes exciting dance numbers which blend traditional movement from African culture with ballet, jazz, and modern dance! The Wiz originally opened on Broadway, January 5, 1974, a film adaptation, starring Diana Ross, premiered October 24, 1978, and in 2015, NBC presented The Wiz Live!, a live television adaptation of the stage musical starring Shanice Williams as Dorothy Gale.  

 

Discounted tickets are available to TriHealth team members for only $7 each, good for open balcony seating that night! While there is no ticket limit per reservation, please keep in mind that tickets tend to go quickly. Tickets will be confirmed on a first response, first paid basis. 

 

How to RSVP: Email your name and number of tickets to Ian_Woodmansee@trihealth.com. A link will be provided to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets will be held at the door. 

 

Thanks to TriHealth’s partnership with The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, all ticket proceeds will be donated towards the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink Campaign. 

 

Location: Taft Theater, in downtown Cincinnati. Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test required for entry. Masks will be required at all times inside the Taft Theatre. There will be no eating or drinking allowed. Be sure to read and follow all Health and Safety Guidelines.
