TriHealth Bridge

December 07, 2022

As TriHealth’s team members and physicians continue to focus on treating the whole patient through population health, Cincinnati is taking notice.

On December 10, Local 12 aired an exclusive 30-minute documentary titled “Way Beyond Medicine” focusing on TriHealth’s population health model and its impact on the area.

Hosted by Local 12 health reporter Liz Bonis, the documentary details the importance of treating the whole patient, including their physical and behavioral health, and how TriHealth’s caregivers take the time to identify and treat patients’ short- and long-term needs to provide better care, better health and better value.

During the special, TriHealth President and CEO Mark Clement highlights why TriHealth has made population health a staple of patient care. The documentary also features interviews with TriHealth Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Terri Hanlon Bremer, TriHealth Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Bethesda North Region Dr. Thomas Shockley, TriHealth Cardiologist Dr. Rick Gaines and TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion Fitness Supervisor Amy Hilderbran. The panel discusses what population health is and how it fits with and supports the TriHealth Way, as well as how population health affects patients’ primary care visits, diagnostic scans and healthy living coaching.

Viewers also hear from our own patients as they recount how TriHealth providers took the time to talk with and listen to them about both acute and subtle conditions. These conversations uncovered potentially serious conditions such as cancer that were treated earlier, resulting in better outcomes.
