TriHealth Bridge

September 22, 2021

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, there is no better time to share that in recognition of TriHealth’s tremendous service to Ohio’s Hispanic community, we have received the Nuestra Familia Award, one of the Governor’s 2021 Distinguished Hispanic Ohioan recognitions. Social determinants of health, including race and ethnicity have a major impact on a person’s health and wellbeing. We’ve made great strides in working to close gaps in care and further our Health Equity work within Greater Cincinnati’s Hispanic community by creating greater access to high quality healthcare.

Our work over the past few years includes the launch of our Spanish-speaking Centering Program for pregnant women, our partnership with the Freestore Foodbank and Amazon to deliver and provide meals to the community ensuring no family went hungry during the early surges of COVID; breaking down language and access barriers through investments in technology and interpreter services for patients who access care at the Good Samaritan Free Health Center and the St. Vincent DePaul free pharmacy for prescriptions; and leveraging our media partnerships and internal communication channels to host Spanish-language radio and news interviews and social media livestreams to convey the importance of vaccination directly to Hispanic and Latino communities.
