Hi Team –

I hope you enjoyed last week’s many celebrations throughout our system in honor of YOU, our incredible Healthcare Heroes! As I have rounded in recent weeks, I have heard many inspiring and heartfelt stories of individual and team acts of heroism, along with deep gratitude from those on the frontlines toward their fellow team members and physicians! Your camaraderie and commitment to each other is truly moving and the reason we’ve become a model for getting healthcare right throughout this pandemic!

Healthcare Heroes Week Recap
One of the highlights of last week’s events was our special Healthcare Heroes Virtual Town Hall, where we had the pleasure of joining with more than 1,200 team members to celebrate and have some fun! We were excited to unveil the winning t-shirt design and recognize contest winner, Bridee Morris, Pharmacy Tech from McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital (shown in photo), along with our two runner ups, Cynthia Eisenberg, Medical Assistant with TriHealth Surgical Institute Montgomery, and Annika Pater, Radiologic Technologist at TriHealth Priority Care. Don’t forget to order your Healthcare Hero t-shirt gift by Friday, May 14. Everyone on the TriHealth Team can order one, including volunteers, our board members and independent physicians. To order, simply click here and follow the instructions!

We loved hearing from so many of you during the Town Hall! The positive and inspiring notes of support and enthusiastic “shout outs” to our team members, physicians, volunteers, and leaders were both deserved and moving, so we’ve posted them all on Bridge to uplift everyone! Click here to review the heartwarming comments.

Last week also produced many lucky winners! Congratulations to the 100 Healthcare Heroes who were randomly selected during the Town Hall to win raffle prizes!! Each winner should have received an email last week with instructions to order their choice of really cool TriHealth gear – click here to see if you are a winner! If you’re on the list, but have not received an email, please contact our communications team at internalcomm@trihealth.com. Congratulations also goes out to the 10 Healthcare Heroes who were randomly selected to win a $50 gift card as part of our Appreciation Station Contest! Click here to review the list of winners. If you’re on the list, look for an email from OneHR Communications to claim your prize.

I hope you had the chance to experience the Town Hall live, but if you didn’t, click here to watch the highlights or here to view the full length video.

COVID Update
An encouraging sign that vaccinations are working – and that we will soon be able to resume our normal lives – is the fact that COVID cases continue to remain low, both at TriHealth and in the region, and are trending down across the country, see sidebar. However, we are remaining vigilant in adhering to CDC guidance on safety practices and are ready to respond at a moment’s notice if things change. Our Incident Command Center continues to meet each week and we are closely monitoring cases as we gradually and safely manage the return to a more normal way of life.

Many have asked when can we stop wearing masks at work, and the answer is, not until we reach herd immunity and the CDC officially relaxes this indoor safety practice. And to get there, we’ll need a breakthrough in the vaccine hesitancy barrier we’re now experiencing. President Biden has set an ambitious goal of 70% of the nation being vaccinated by July 1, which will be a huge step toward herd immunity!! So, the most important thing we can do is continue to educate those who have yet to get vaccinated about the safety, efficacy, and benefits of vaccination – to ourselves and those around us – while continuing to break down barriers in vaccine access and availability for all members of our community.

In closing, I’d like to, once again, share the most important lessons we have learned together throughout our COVID journey as One Team, TriHealth Strong...

  • First, we can accomplish almost anything by coming together and working together as One TriHealth Team… “Because we did, and did better than most!”
  • Next, adversity can make us stronger… “Because it most certainly did!”
  • Finally, TriHealth is blessed with the best people – doctors, nurses, other clinical and support staff – true Healthcare Heroes… “Because, unquestionably, you are!"

Thank you for all you have done, and continue to do, to serve our community and to put this once-in-a-century pandemic behind us! There is no better team in healthcare, and we’re so grateful to have you! And in case you missed it last week, please be sure to watch this special thank you and tribute from senior leaders to YOU, our Healthcare Heroes.
