TriHealth Bridge

June 22, 2021

In honor of Juneteenth, our TRIBE (TriHealth Resource Initiative for Black Employees) Employee Resource Group along with our Corporate Health and Pavilion teams were at Cincinnati City Hall to recognize this historic event and provide resources to our community, including blood pressure/BMI screenings, COVID education and vaccination, education on African American physicians and career opportunities at TriHealth! TRIBE also hosted a fun and informative WebEx Celebration of Juneteenth for team members on Monday, June 21.

At TriHealth, we are called by our heritage and mission to respect all people, cultures and traditions. As an organization that cares for everyone in our community, it’s valuable to pause and reflect—and acknowledge—the cultural histories of those we SERVE. TriHealth recognizes Juneteenth, the annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, as a way to celebrate African American freedom and achievement while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures and people.

As shared in a recent communication, we are already making plans to more formally commemorate and recognize Juneteenth next year, following last week’s landmark decision to officially designate Juneteenth as a national holiday – the first new federal holiday created by Congress in nearly four decades! We’ll share more details in the coming weeks and months as our plans are finalized.
