Holly Witt from 8Q and Melinda Trevor from Respiratory Therapy were recently honored through the Good Samaritan Foundation’s Grateful Patients and Families Program, for their teamwork and the outstanding care they provide to their patients and families.

Along with the gift, they received notes of gratitude from the family and their managers:

“Dear Holly, After admission to your floor, you quickly recognized something was not right with my father. I appreciate you promptly making decisions to make sure he was timely treated and transferred. Thank you for your excellent and compassionate care!”

“Holly is an excellent nurse. She should be proud of her caring and questioning attitude. She is a strong advocate for her patients and this award proves that!” Kate O’Hagan, GSH Nurse Manager, 8Q

“Dear Melinda, You truly saved my father Donald’s life! You instantly recognized what was going on with him and made sure he received the care he needed. Words cannot express our gratitude for you being on shift and him being with us for Christmas.”

"I am so proud of Melinda. Often, we don’t always realize the impact that we as care givers have on our patients and their families because this is what we do all the time. The Grateful Patient Program is a nice way to allow us to pause and take note that our work, no matter what area of expertise we are in, is appreciated and can really make a difference in the lives of others.” Steven Wood, GSH Manager, Respiratory Service
