On September 9, 2020, Good Samaritan Hospital went live with its new, state-of-the-art Chemistry Automation line, the Beckman Coulter DxA. As the newest system on the market, it automates a long series of steps, from loading to storage, and performs them within 15 minutes. This system requires no additional sample handling by human hands, which then reduces turn-around times, employee exposure and possible human error on sample handling.
Good Samaritan Hospital is the first in the area to install this generation of the new system. A second DxA automation line will be installed at Bethesda North Hospital in February after the lab renovations are completed.
