As we continue to get back to business gradually, we are also getting back to ensuring our team members receive the training they need to provide safe, quality care to those we SERVE.
The HeartCode Skills Labs will re-open June 1, 2020. If you have a current HeartCode assignment, please complete the lab by August 31, 2020.
The HeartCode Skills labs will be accessible 24/7, except during instructor-led sessions. If you would like to reserve a spot in instructor-led training, visit Learn to schedule in advance. Sessions are available:
- Mondays 9 am-12 noon at Bethesda North Hospital;
- Tuesdays 8 am-3 pm at Norwood Wall Street Education Center; and
- Wednesdays 9 am-12 noon at Good Samaritan Hospital.
To ensure you and your fellow team members remain safe and healthy while training, please comply with a few additional guidelines.
- Cleaning - Wipe down the station before and after you’ve used it with the cleaning supplies in the lab.
- Bag Valve Masks - You will use a bag valve mask (BVM) to complete ventilation skills. Face shields will no longer be used. The labs have instructional posters with tips on using a BVM if you need it. Check with your unit educator or attend an instructor-led session if you need help using the BVM. Please note: The BVM provided in the lab is not appropriate for patient use.
- Physical Distancing – To accommodate more space, there are fewer skills stations available in the Bethesda North Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital HeartCode Skills Labs. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to complete your assignment.
