This past February during American Heart Month, a patient was implanted with the 100th WATCHMAN™ Left Atrial Appendage Closure Implant at TriHealth’s Bethesda North Hospital. WATCHMAN™ is a first-of-its-kind, proven alternative to long-term warfarin therapy for stroke risk reduction in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). The device, which is the only FDA-approved implant proven to reduce stroke risk in people with atrial fibrillation not caused by a heart valve problem, has been implanted in more than 50,000 patients worldwide.

Here at TriHealth, we are very fortunate to be able to offer this state-of-the-art cardiac procedure to our atrial fibrillation patients. We are also very fortunate to have physicians dedicated to the best and safest practice for our patients.  Join us in thanking our physicians and staff and congratulating them on their 100th WATCHMAN™ implant!
