The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us many lessons, not least of which is the importance of basic infection prevention practices, including hand hygiene. Dirty hands are a contributing factor in the spread of healthcare-associated infections and practicing good hand hygiene is a simple yet effective way to prevent the transmission of infections. Hand hygiene is also one of the best ways to stay healthy and avoid getting sick and spreading infections like colds, flu or intestinal infections to others, in any setting.
To demonstrate how long you should typically wash your hands, Dr. Joseph has been including 20-second clips at the end of his Friday emails with revised lyrics to reflect increased safety awareness. Check them out on our Coronavirus Resource page.
