A grateful aunt and patient made a donation to Good Samaritan Foundation in honor of Melissa Craig, RN, Jessica Whitis, RN, and Kelley Gick, RN to celebrate National Nurses Week. With her gift, she wrote:

I wanted to write you a letter and let you know that the nurse that I am honoring is my niece who I call ‘My Lifeline’ – I am 87 and she gives me so much time and attention and she is the charge nurse at Good Sam’s Mother-Baby Unit. Her name is Melissa Craig…

She says she feels so blessed to have a job she absolutely loves so much…

Two of the nurses that previously worked with her – Jessica Whitis and Kelley Gick but now work in Surgicare were my nurses a few months ago…and were just so attentive…I never felt so secure and comfortable.

I have such a high respect for nurses and also for Good Samaritan.

Just felt you should know the caliber of people at Good Sam is unmatched in my opinion.”

While National Nurses Week occurs one time each year, we celebrate and honor nurses every day through the Grateful Patient and Families Program, which allows a patient or their family to make a donation in honor of a physician, nurse, or team member who made a difference and share a brief note of thanks.

Donations provide support for projects and services in the Good Samaritan Region.
