The emergency departments at Good Samaritan Western Ridge and Bethesda Arrow Springs have been awarded the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) annual Lantern Award.

This is the first time Western Ridge has received the honor and the third time for Arrow Springs. Congratulations to all of our dedicated Emergency Department team members at Western Ridge and Arrow Springs, especially during these unprecidented times, on achieving this prestigious designation!

The Lantern Award is given annually to emergency departments across the country who exemplify exceptional and innovative performance in the core areas of leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.

The award is a visible symbol of an emergency department’s commitment to quality, presence of a healthy work environment and accomplishment in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care. All emergency departments are eligible for the Lantern Award.

Emergency departments recognized by ENA are evaluated on a wide variety of performance and outcome metrics, as well as qualitative questions about noteworthy practices and attributes of the emergency department focusing on their commitment to excellence and innovation.
