The TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion has been certified once again by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), the country’s leading organization dedicated solely to medically integrated wellness and fitness facilities. The TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion has earned a score of 98.6% from examiners during the process. This certification represents significant steps forward in improving the health of the entire community and to individuals seeking to take responsibility for their personal health.

The MFA began certifying centers in 2007 and The TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion was the first to become certified. Today, it still stands as Cincinnati's only certified medical fitness center recognized by the Medical Fitness Association. Since 1997, the Pavilion has served millions of members and guests.

“To receive a nation-leading fourth recertification from the MFA is a result of the continued support and collaboration of TriHealth physicians, Administration and Pavilion team members.” said John Jacobs, Director, TriHealth Fitness & Health Pavilion. “We would not have this success without our committed members, who choose the Pavilion every day to improve their health. This recognition is for our entire community.”

“As the incidence of chronic disease continues to rise, the need for more medically supervised outcomes and accountability based Exercise as Medicine programs have never been more relevant in our industry than today,” said Robert Boone, President and CEO, Medical Fitness Association. “It is clear that moving towards a population health and prevention model in the provision of healthcare with all its necessary components and guidelines is a Herculean task. The TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion was a pioneer more than 20 years ago and took an important step towards filling a gap in the care delivery model.”

The MFA program is the first and only certification offered specifically to facilities in the entire fitness industry—an industry that serves over 4 million members worldwide. Based on the Medical Fitness Association’s internationally recognized “Standards and Guidelines for Medical Fitness Facilities,” the certification process involves an in-depth, on-site review of a facility’s adherence to a set of very stringent prescribed standards and guidelines. The certification process is an integral part of ensuring that facilities provide a high level of quality, safety and innovation in the programs and services they deliver in order for them to become fully integrated into the local continuum of health care. The Medical Fitness Association Facility Certification is recognized as a mark of excellence in the confluence of fitness and healthcare.
