The holidays are a time to celebrate with friends and family, but that can be more difficult if a loved one is in the hospital. One of our organizational development team members, Lainey Docque, helped to spread a little light to some patients and their families by recognizing the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah.

The last candle lighting on 4200 was memorable.Nurses and PCAs who celebrate Hanukkah and those who do not joined in on the fun of lighting the candles, making the celebration very special for the patient and husband. Some other celebrations have included singing Hanukkah songs and playing various Jewish games.

Thank you to our team members who go above and beyond for our patients and their families!

Thanks for your comments. This was actually the sixth night of Chanukah and as mentioned by Linda Chatterjee, Shabbat. Thanks for noticing the extra candles, Challah, etc. The patient's last name is under the challah and was placed over it when I entered the room. This acted like a traditional challah cover.

How wonderful! Hanukkah, a new baby, and Shabbat. :-) Simchah is a word for joy that is shared in community. You all got to feel that. :-)
