The Joint Commission has awarded Good Samaritan Hospital Disease-Specific Certification (DSC) for Pancreatic Cancer. Thank you to all involved in the process, including the site visits and surveys.
The surveyor relayed feedback from her discussions with team members and patients. She spoke about team members discussing the great collaboration and teaching among the many disciplines. Team members stressed the unique relationships they have with their patients, and each other, due to the collaboration among the disciplines to provide the highest level care to our patients.
Feedback the surveyor received from patients was that the team members were the “most compassionate people that have ever had taken care of me.” One patient told the surveyor she was “forever grateful to Good Samaritan" for her cancer care.
Congratulations to the TCI leadership, Mark Witte and Dr. Maher, and the TCI team for building a truly comprehensive cancer program with amazing resources. This award also serves as recognition for the TCI team for creating a culture that allows them to care for our patients in a way that makes these site visits so impressive to the reviewers and this Certification so meaningful to all of us here at TriHealth.

I currently have a family member being treated for pancreatic cancer and agree with the patient who stated that these are the most compassionate care givers. Also forever grateful!
