School at Work (SAW®) is a learning program free to entry level team members eager to improve a variety of skills. SAW® can boost confidence in current roles and help prepare those who are considering college or advancement!

This 7-8 month program will meet Wednesdays, 2-4 p.m. (though the first and last classes are 2-4:30 p.m.) at TriHealth Norwood, from January-July 2020. Team members will need manager approval and must complete a reading assessment to be selected. Participation in weekly classes is typically paid. SAW® is not intended for team members who already have a college degree.

Learning Highlights

  • Improve written and verbal communication skills for improved customer service
  • Learn to use a computer and become an on-line learner
  • Refresh math and reading skills
  • Learn basic medical terminology
  • Develop a healthcare career plan

Eligibility criteria: To be eligible team members must:

  • Be employed by TriHealth for a minimum of six months
  • Work at least 64 hours per pay period (cannot be optional status)
  • Have no disciplinary action in place for the past six months
  • Have supervisor’s approval to attend class at Norwood each week (1st and last class of program are 2-4:30 p.m., all others are 2-4 p.m.)
  • Pass a reading assessment (given at the information sessions provided below)

*Monday, 11/25, 11am-12:30pm; Good Samaritan Hospital, 4th Floor Conf Ctr Rm C (by North Elevators)

*Tuesday, 12/3, 8-9:30am; Good Samaritan Hospital, 4th Floor Conf Ctr Rm C

This is a great program offered to our team members-hopefully there are a lot of Managers/Supervisors encouraging their team members to attend an information session.
