Hi Team!

As we begin the second half of the summer, I would like to devote this Weekly Update to two topics which are both timely and foundational to our work of improving our performance in each of our Pillars Quality/Safety, People/Culture, Service, Finance and Growth) – all as part of our work to get healthcare right for all those we serve.

Annual Engagement Survey Results Are In! With an encouraging 90% team member participation rate in this year’s Team Member Engagement Survey, we have gained a solid understanding of, and greater insight into, where you feel we’re doing well and where we can improve in the year ahead, so THANK YOU!! From August 2 – 30, your leaders will meet with you to share and discuss your area’s results, and will work with you to develop local action plans to achieve meaningful improvements in the year ahead. In the coming weeks, I will also be sharing key system findings and areas of focus for FY2020. Please plan to be active participants in this important collaborative process to make TriHealth better for you, for our patients and for our community!

The Joint Commission (TJC) Triennial Accreditation Survey Ends on a High Note! I’m pleased to announce that last week marked successful completion of The Joint Commission’s (TJC) five-day survey at Bethesda North Hospital, Bethesda Butler Hospital, Hospice of Cincinnati, and the 23 ambulatory sites under Bethesda Hospital operating license. This completes TJC’s Triennial Accreditation Survey process, which included equally successful surveys at Good Samaritan Hospital and Evendale Hospital and their affiliated sites – both of which occurred earlier this year. Most notable about last week’s survey was the extremely positive compliments TJC surveyors shared each day, citing how impressed they were with TriHealth’s patient-centered culture, our team members’ and physicians’ commitment to patient safety, and the engaged and welcoming care environment.

These results speak directly to the long tradition of clinical excellence and compassionate care at our Bethesda Hospital, Inc. sites. When coupled with Good Sam’s and TriHealth Evendale’s earlier survey results, they provide solid independent validation that our work over the past three years to build a system-wide culture of excellence in quality, safety, service, and teamwork through The TriHealth Way is paying off!! Many thanks to the team members, physicians and leaders who played instrumental roles in collaborating with TJC surveyors. Most importantly, my sincere thanks and congratulations to our Bethesda team for the exceptional care and service delivered to our patients and community – every day at every encounter! We’ll share the final TJC report on The Bridge within the next two weeks.

Have a great week, and thank you for all you do to make TriHealth the system where our team members and physicians most want to work and practice, and most importantly, where our community chooses to receive healthcare services!
