Hi Team!
I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend, and enjoyed some relaxing and fun times with family and friends! The summer season is now in full gear, and things are heating up here at TriHealth too, as we dive into this second week of fiscal year 2020 with our 13th Leadership Development Institute (LDI).
On July 9 and 10, your TriHealth leaders will come together for this LDI at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Now heading into Year 4 of our journey from good to great, these LDIs – and our work to make the TriHealth Way the ONLY WAY of Leading, Serving and Delivering Care – are starting to build the lasting foundation necessary to fulfill our promise to get healthcare right for all those we serve. Today we have an aligned and committed TriHealth team, we’re improving the quality and safety of our care, and we’re regularly being recognized and celebrated as a top industry performer and a model healthcare delivery system (highlights of which we shared with you during our June Team Member Forums). As importantly, we’re regularly hearing from you, our team members, that this work is making us a better organization – here are just a few comments:
“I worked here long before the TriHealth Way was introduced, and I can honestly say, it’s a different and better world! My leader keeps me up to date on what’s going on with the system and why, and how it affects our department. I feel like I personally know the senior leaders of the company, and I genuinely feel appreciated for the work I do! Thank you for showing us a better way – and for investing in all of us to make it OUR way!” – Lisa D.
“Before the LDIs started, I never saw a top leader from my hospital, much less talked to one! Today, these leaders regularly round where I work, and my own leader spends a lot more time connecting the dots between the system’s goals and priorities and what we’re doing in my unit. I definitely feel like I am part of a real team now.” – Dan H.
Our July LDI is titled, “Mastering Change, Leading with Agility.” Now a full three years into our five to seven-year journey from good to great, we will be pausing at this LDI to share and discuss the results of a mid-course assessment of our progress so far – what’s working, what’s not, and what we need to do differently to accelerate and achieve breakthrough performance improvement within this current environment of constant industry change and new challenges. We’ll also be introducing two new High Reliability principles and practices – Just Culture and Cause Analysis – to help all of us to deliver the safest and highest quality care, all part of our sacred work to bring better care, better health and better value to all those we serve. As always, expect to hear from your leaders soon after the LDI about what they learned, and what it means to your team and your local efforts to get healthcare right.
Thank you for supporting our leaders as they take the necessary time away from their daily responsibilities to participate in this important LDI…so ultimately, we can be better servant leaders for you!

Weekly Huddle Message: Showing Appreciation
At TriHealth, we strive to foster an environment of consistent appreciation for one another and the sacred work we do. Thanking and recognizing team members is easy! This week, take a moment to say thank you to someone you work with. Let them know how grateful you are to have them as part of your team or recognize them for a job well done.
