On Saturday, December 7, Good Samaritan’s NICU was featured on WLWT’s Let’s Talk Cincy show to share the impact of the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund. For more than 20 years, the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund has provided philanthropic support through the Good Samaritan Foundation to give NICU families a sense of peace and hope through a difficult time.
In addition to supporting admission gifts, a Christmas party, and other comfort items throughout the year, the main beneficiary is the quilt program.
Because of the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund, each patient and family receives a quilt. Every quilt is handmade by volunteers, and each one is unique. These labors of love are placed on top of enclosed NICU beds, and families take them home upon discharge as keepsakes. To learn more about the impact of the quilt program, click this link. The NICU feature begins at the 15:40 mark.
Thank you to Conni Tupes, RN for your dedication and work, and to Christa Black, RN and team!

My grandson received a quilt when he was born 14 years ago. It was a comfort to him and his family and he still has his quilt!
