Coming soon to TriHealth, a local Toastmasters Club will provide team member members resources to develop and strengthen essential career and life skills.

Toastmasters-logo-200xWhat is Toastmasters?

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Their membership is 292,000 strong. These members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 14,350 clubs in 122 countries that make up their global network of meeting locations.

How Does It Work?

A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another's presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program's success.

Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.

Members learn communication skills by working in the "Competent Communication" manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.

Why Should I Join?

The Toastmasters program offers many benefits that help people in all walks of life. As a result of participating in Toastmasters, you will:

  • Increase your self-confidence
  • Become a better speaker
  • Become a better leader
  • Communicate more effectively
  • Network with fellow TriHealth team members

Membership is affordable - an investment that can provide many long-lasting rewards. Member cost:

  • $20 new member fee (waived for the inaugural group).
  • $42 dues for six months ($36 Toastmaster dues, plus local club expenses of $6. Both are subject to change.)

Attend a Simulated Meeting

We will be hosting a simulated Toastmasters meeting that will allow you to see a meeting in action to determine if this is something you are interested in joining. Email Nathan Mollohan at Nathan_Mollohan@TriHealth.com by Aug. 29 to attend the simulated meeting. There is no commitment to join by sending an initial email; this is simply to gauge interest.

Meetings will likely be held every other week around lunch time for one hour, but could change based on the needs of members. Initially, meetings will be held at Bethesda Oak; however, if interest is large, it may be feasible to start a satellite club at another location.
