Hi Team –

Well, based on this week’s weather forecast, it appears that Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction earlier this month of six more weeks of winter is holding true for now. No matter the weather though, our work to Get Healthcare Right and achieve industry-leading, top-decile performance continues to “heat up”. So, I hope you will join me and other members of our senior and physician leadership team next Tuesday, February 25 at noon on Bridge for our next monthly Team Member Town Hall livestream.

We will share the latest updates on our work to Get Healthcare Right, discuss industry challenges and how we are working to overcome them, celebrate wins, answer your questions, and give away some really cool TriHealth prizes to those who join the conversation.

Investing in Our Facilities to Get Healthcare Right

  • Getting Healthcare Right means providing convenient access to the right care in the right place in the right way to achieve the right and best health outcomes, always.
  • And one important way we achieve this is by expanding access and offering state-of-the-art technology and facilities through investment in our hospitals, ambulatory campuses, physician practices, and other clinical sites of care across the region.
  • So, I’m excited to provide a brief update on the major improvements occurring throughout our system, which are enabling us to better serve our growing patient population.
    • Good Samaritan Hospital: Our five-year, $240M campus transformation of Good Samaritan Hospital continues to take shape as we create one of the region’s most technologically advanced, comprehensive healthcare hubs.
      • With demolition of the old Dixmyth parking garage complete, work is now speeding up on the new West Tower. The concrete structure of the West Tower is scheduled for completion this summer.
      • The new six-story, 168,000-square-foot West Tower will “house”:
        • New, modern, state-of-the-art Operating Rooms
        • A new Emergency Department
        • TriHealth Cancer and Blood Institute
        • TriHealth Heart and Vascular Institute, diagnostics, and more
    • Bethesda North Hospital: Following nearly five years of construction, we have reached the final phase of the TriHealth Heart Hospital on the campus of Bethesda North, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of calendar year 2025.
      • Construction is currently underway on the new front entrance of Bethesda North Hospital. When completed, it will streamline and simplify access and wayfinding to the Heart Institute and other clinical services.
      • With the completion of steel casing and roofing of the exterior front entry canopy, the interior lobby construction will continue to progress throughout the winter and spring. And the new front entry and more spacious lobby are on track to open in late summer or early fall.
      • The reception lobby will feature new locations for registration and the outpatient pharmacy, improving patient and visitor flow.
      • The combined Café and Gift Shop will be located off the lobby, ready to welcome and conveniently serve Bethesda North visitors once opened.
      • And for the first time, the Bethesda North name is being prominently displayed at the top of our main hospital.
      • In addition, installation of a new exterior lighting system is complete, allowing our campus to come to life at night and help us celebrate special recognition months, holidays, community events, sports teams, and more!
    • Ambulatory Network and Physician Practices:
      • Major renovations are also underway at Good Samaritan Glenway Ambulatory Campus, with updates to the Imaging suite and addition of a new CT. The renovation will give a fresh, modernized look to the registration and waiting room areas, X-ray, and Ultrasound while adding CT – all to enhance the team member and patient experience at Glenway.
      • And at Good Sam Western Ridge, work is currently underway to renovate the CT imaging area to accommodate the addition of TriHealth’s second PET scanner located at the Western Ridge campus. This follows last fall’s completion of the new Uro/Gyn area.
      • And planning is underway at the Bethesda North Outpatient Imaging building, known as “BNOI” (the previous home of the Mary Jo Cropper Breast Center) to develop dedicated clinical space for the Cincy OB-Gyn practice, which joined TriHealth a year ago.
      • This represents the first of several phases which will occur over the next few years to repurpose the BNOI building for physician and other clinical services to accommodate the rapid growth occurring on the Bethesda North Campus.
  • Click here to view more pictures of the progress we are making on these major system improvements. And look for regular reports in future Weekly Updates on these important investments to support continued growth and development of clinical programs across our system.

Submit Your Design for the Next TriHealth Healthcare Appreciation Week T-Shirt

  • One of the many ways we say thank you and show our heartfelt appreciation to you – our 13,000+ team members and physicians – is through our system-wide celebrations, like TriHealth Healthcare Appreciation Week. This weeklong celebration is held every May and coincides with National Hospital and National Nurses Week.
  • And back by popular demand is our Healthcare Appreciation Week t-shirt design contest!
  • This annual contest gives our own team members the chance to display their creativity by designing a t-shirt for Healthcare Appreciation Week. Here’s how it works:
    • DESIGN: Submit your t-shirt design starting today and continuing through Friday, March 14. Visit Bridge for all the design submission details.
    • VOTE: In April, all team members will get the chance to vote for their favorite t-shirt design. The winning design will be announced during the Healthcare Appreciation Week Town Hall on Wednesday, May 14.
    • CELEBRATE: The t-shirt design receiving the most votes will be featured on the official, super-soft 2025 Healthcare Appreciation Week t-shirt. Plus...
      • The team member with the winning design will receive a $500 gift card
      • The two runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card, and
      • Everyone who submits a design will be entered in a drawing to win one of ten $50 gift cards!
  • Last year we had over 150 team members submit their designs, so I hope you take advantage of this fun opportunity this year to show off your creative talents and win some great prizes while helping us share our TriHealth team spirit during Healthcare Appreciation Week!

Celebrating Black History Month: A Discussion on Mental Health & Psychological Safety

  • Each year we celebrate Black History Month along with others like it including Women’s History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month to better understand, and therefore, better serve our community.
  • Promoting the health and wellness of our team members and physicians is one of many ways we foster a "surprisingly supportive and purposeful" work and practice environment and culture at TriHealth AND deliver on our promise to see, hear and heal all those we serve, always!
  • So, we are excited to invite team members to attend a Mental Health & Psychological Safety discussion on February 26 sponsored by our Center for Health Equity.
  • Led by author and health counselor, Dr. Shantel Thomas, this hourlong conversation will offer insights on wellbeing along with techniques to alleviate everyday stress.
  • Be sure to join us February 26 at noon on Bridge or in person at TriHealth Baldwin.

Thank you for choosing to be your best and give your best to those we serve and those we serve beside. Because of you – our incredible TriHealth Team – we continue to lead the way in Getting Healthcare Right, all to bring exceptional and affordable care and improved health to every patient we serve, always!
