TriHealth Bridge

March 13, 2024

On March 19, 2024, TriHealth celebrated Certified Nurses Day by honoring 1,100 board-certified nurses for their professionalism, leadership and commitment to excellence in patient care. This year, the percentage of specialty certified nurses at TriHealth is greater than 44 percent!

As healthcare and the nursing profession become increasingly more complex and specialized, the role of board-certified nurses is more important than ever in our efforts to consistently exceed our high standards of care for patients and families. Board certification is a key factor in the assurance of minimum standards of knowledge, skills and abilities in nursing specialty practice and contributes to better patient outcomes.

“After obtaining my Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification (NEA-BC), I felt more confident in planning nursing strategy, high-level finance, resource management and system integration,” says Jenny Skinner, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Executive. “I encourage all TriHealth nurses to consider certification as an opportunity to advance your nursing career and prove your ability to provide the best patient care.

TriHealth encourages national board certification for all its nurses and covers the cost up to $400 a year for certification examination and certification renewal for those nurses who meet the TriHealth Certification Eligibility Guidelines. In addition, nurses can participate in review courses supported in part by gifts made to the Good Samaritan and Bethesda Foundations. More information about specialty certifications can be found by clicking here.

Please join TriHealth and the nation’s national nursing certification organizations in honoring those hardworking, dedicated, certified nurses for their professionalism and a job well done!
