TriHealth Bridge

April 29, 2024

Cinco De Mayo is a yearly celebration held on the 5th of May to commemorate Mexico’s victory over the second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Cinco de Mayo has often been mistaken for Mexico's Independence Day — another important national holiday in Mexico, which is celebrated on September 16 and celebrates the “Cry of Dolores” in 1810, which initiated the Mexican War of Independence from Spain.

Cinco de Mayo has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture and celebrations for the day have spanned far beyond Mexico. It has become a great opportunity for many in North America to celebrate Mexican cuisine, art and culture.

In an effort to continue our journey of getting healthcare right, TriHealth has the privilege of participating in the 20th annual Cincy Cinco Celebration on Fountain Square. This will be a great opportunity to engage the community and provide helpful information to better health literacy and knowledge. We plan to offer basic health screening services and provide preventative care information in Spanish to better service our Spanish speaking community.

TriHealth will be present at a booth on both Saturday, May 4th from Noon – 4 p.m. as well as Sunday, May 5th from Noon – 4 p.m. We invite all TriHealth team members to stop by, say hello and celebrate the occasion with us!
