Hi Team –

While the Bengals season has gotten off to a bit of a rough start, there’s still plenty of time for our hometown team to return to Super Bowl form. And in the spirit of one great team supporting another, we want YOU to be there to cheer the Bengals on to victory!

So, I’m excited to share that thanks to our continued, yet scaled back, relationship with the Bengals, we’re giving team members and physicians the opportunity to enter a random drawing to win a pair of suite tickets to the October 15 Bengals game versus the Seattle Seahawks. Eight lucky winners and their guests will enjoy the game in style, hosted by TriHealth! For your chance to win, simply complete this contest entry form – just one more way for TriHealth to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the very best healthcare team anywhere!! Stay tuned for another chance to win suite tickets for a home game later in the season!!!

Getting Healthcare Right
Eight years ago, TriHealth pledged to lead the way and serve as a national model for fixing our nation’s broken healthcare system by embracing a bold vision to Get Healthcare Right – by always delivering the right care in the right place in the right way to achieve the right and best outcomes at the right cost. Ultimately, this was to ensure we could deliver on the Triple Aim + One – better care, better health, and better value for every patient we serve...always, and a better work and practice environment for every team member and physician who serves. And together, over the past eight years, we have made impressive progress by:

  • Adopting innovative population health care and financing models,
  • Investing in our high-value network of hospitals, ambulatory sites, and clinical service lines
  • Growing our world-class physician community,
  • Forging best-in-class “win-win” clinical partnerships, such as with Beacon Orthopedics, the Cleveland Clinic, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital among many others
  • Working to eliminate health disparities and foster health equity and belonging, both within TriHealth and throughout the communities we serve.
As evidence of this work in action – and the positive difference it’s making – I’m excited to share two recent examples of how we are leading the way to Get Healthcare Right...

Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, Inc. to Join TriHealth
First, I’m pleased to announce that Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, Inc. – a 10-physician practice located in Liberty Township (pictured right) – will join the TriHealth Physician Partners (TPP) family at the start of the new year. As shared in last week’s town hall, this new partnership will align these physicians and their distinguished 80+ year-old practice with the region’s largest and most respected provider of Women’s Services – TriHealth!

After joining our system in January 2024, Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, Inc. will enhance patient access in the Bethesda North Region by offering patients maternity services at Bethesda North Hospital and surgical services at both Bethesda North and Bethesda Butler Hospitals. A dedicated TriHealth transition team is now working to onboard the practice’s more than 40 staff members as TriHealth team members, resulting in a seamless integration into TPP and our TriHealth Way culture by year end.

A BIG thanks to Dr. Kristin Coppage, System Chief for Women’s Services, Jeremiah Kirkland, System Executive for Women’s Services, and the entire team who helped bring this important new partnership to fruition. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks and months ahead as we welcome the Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, Inc. practice to our TriHealth Team!

TriHealth Stroke Program Leading the Region and the Nation in Quality
At last week’s Town Hall, Dr. Andy Ringer, System Chief of the TriHealth Neuroscience Institute, and Dr. Chris Zammit, Medical Director of Stroke and Neurosciences Critical Care (pictured right), made a powerful presentation on the important work underway to build a world-class Stroke program. And it’s an impressive story that bears repeating!

Getting Healthcare Right is all about delivering the right care in the right way at the right time to produce the right and best clinical outcomes at the right cost. And when it comes to Getting Stroke Care Right, there is nothing more essential than to deliver the right care at the right time in the right way.

Intervening in a timely and precise way is critical to successfully treating a patient suffering from a stroke…where every minute to treatment truly counts in preserving the brain, and in many cases, saving the life of a stroke patient. So, our Neurosciences Institute has made it their mission to lead the way in Getting Stroke Care Right. And through important clinical partnerships across the region, investments in our facilities, technologies, care standards, and people, they are doing just that!

Leading the Way in Stroke Care Certifications: Today, no other health system in the region can compare with TriHealth’s deep and broad system approach to certified stroke care. All four TriHealth hospitals and our Western Ridge and Arrow Springs Emergency Departments are all certified stroke centers by The Joint Commission with the following certifications:

  • Acute Stroke Ready Hospital and ED: McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, Western Ridge, and Arrow Springs
  • Primary Stroke Center: Bethesda Butler Hospital
  • Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center: Bethesda North Hospital
  • Comprehensive Stroke Center: Good Samaritan Hospital – This is the highest level of stroke certification and Good Sam is one of only two Comprehensive Stroke Centers in the entire region.
With six stroke-certified facilities – more than any other health system in our region – and Good Sam’s ability to care for the most complex stroke cases, we are leading the way in providing world-class stroke care for the entire community.

A Growing Team of World-Class Physicians: Leveraging the specialty stroke expertise of Good Samaritan Hospital, our partnership with Mayfield Brain and Spine, and our own growing clinical team, we’ve been able to provide comprehensive stroke center support, not only for our own hospitals and ambulatory sites, but for other hospitals and health systems as well. This has resulted in an increasing number of patients across the region receiving the very best stroke care from TriHealth.

Our Stroke program also utilizes several key collaborations through the Greater Cincinnati Stroke Consortium to help improve patient outcomes and provide education around stroke awareness and prevention. And with the addition of new clinicians, we have driven our “door to needle” time down to achieve American Heart Association (AHA) standards with 100% of our patients, compared with the national and regional performances that are below 50%! And that translates into lives saved and forever improved!!

TriHealth’s Stroke And Neurosciences Emergencies (STANSE) Team (pictured below left to right): Dr. Faraze Niazi, Dr. Henry Chang, Dr. Betsy Larder, Dr. Kiran Poudel, Dr. Julian Macedo, Dr. Collin Herman, and Dr. Chengyuan (Alex) Feng.

Through the exceptional efforts of the entire Stroke program team, TriHealth’s stroke care quality is being recognized nationally. Today, each of our four hospitals are AHA Get with the Guidelines award winners! And for the first time in the history of TriHealth’s Stroke program, both Good Sam and Bethesda North Hospitals were recognized with Gold Plus awards…the highest award level, indicating sustained achievements in quality metrics for more than 24 months!!

So, without a doubt, we ARE Getting Stroke Care Right – our care is better, our stroke patients are healthier, and we are increasingly caring for more stroke patients regionally and nationally! Most importantly, these achievements let our entire community know that TriHealth is THE health system to trust for the best stroke care anywhere!!

A HUGE thank you to Drs. Ringer and Zammit, and the entire Neurosciences Team, for your hard work and dedication to exceptional patient care that has led to this incredible progress!!
