TriHealth values the dedication and sacrifices made by members and veterans of the armed forces, and through our Employee Resource Group TAGS (TriHealth Armed Forces Group and Supporters), we work to support veterans, their families and friends of the military however possible. Our commitment to the military is why we are supporting an upcoming event honoring and thanking Vietnam veterans.
On March 29 TriHealth and other co-sponsors will host a 50th Anniversary Tribute to Vietnam Veterans. The event, which will recognize veterans of all eras, marks the 50th anniversary of the final troops coming home from the Vietnam war and aims to give all veterans the recognition they are due for their service to their country.
The anniversary tribute will begin with live music from the 60’s and 70’s from The Remains. The program will also feature entertainment acts, including a Bob Hope impersonator, and stories from Vietnam veterans, including speaker Rocky Bleier, veteran and pro football player. Bleier served in combat and was seriously wounded when his platoon ran into an ambush. The wounds he sustained in battle from rifle fire and grenade fragments left him barely able to walk, but Bleier was eventually able to recover from his injuries and play in two Super Bowl victories.
The event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s Campus. Attendance is free, but registration is required by March 24. For more details and to RSVP, click here. Details are also available for anyone interested in volunteering for the event.
