To kick off the new year, the providers in the Women’s Service line are making wellness a priority by engaging in a 6-week wellness challenge, that runs January 16-February 24, designed to improve their overall health and wellbeing. This team-centered approach to wellness, allows participants to earn points daily for improved nutrition choices, daily physical activity, quality sleep habits including electronic device management, optimal hydration, and well-being/mindfulness.
The brainchild of Dr. Catrina Crisp, TPP Director for TriHealth Women’s Services, had the idea to implement this challenge to provide structure for wellness. “We all need it. The benefits go far beyond us. When we are better, our patients have better outcomes, our offices have a better culture and our environment, is better,” states Crisp. According to Crisp, “I motivate my team by engaging with them frequently, inviting them to work on themselves rather than comparing to others, and by staying positive. We make jokes, send funny memes, and laugh at ourselves when we suffer together through a hard workout, all that builds relationships. Those relationships help give us happiness and meaning.”
Fully supported by Jeremiah Kirkland, Women’s Service Line Executive Director, Dr. Kristin Coppage, Women’s Services System Chief, and all of Women’s leadership, with over 30 providers, it is truly a collective team win. “The physical and mental wellness of our team is critical to providing exceptional care to our patients. We hope by providing a platform, each person is able to reach their goals and have fun while doing it,” says Crisp.
By partnering with the TriHealth Lifestyles team and the vast resources available through the TriHealth Fitness and Health Pavilion, participants can schedule consultations with lifestyle coaches, registered dieticians, and personal trainers. Also, with a free trial of the Calm app, participants have access to resources for meditation and mindfulness throughout the challenge. Managed by Nyota Stoker, Women’s Project Management Consultant, participants are staying motivated with weekly wellness messages and education twice a week from challenge LifeStyles Wellbeing coach Caroline Rahtz, not to mention a weekly prize for the team with the most points.
