Sherri Joyce, DNP, RN, NE-BC, has been selected to serve as the Dean of Nursing for the Good Samaritan College of Nursing & Health Sciences (GSC).
Following an accomplished nursing leadership career, Dr. Joyce joined the GSC Faculty in 2021 as a Nursing Instructor. For the past four months, she has served as the Interim Dean of Nursing for GSC. In this role, Dr. Joyce has been instrumental in advancing GSC's ExCEL Clinical Nurse program, enabling the College to pilot the program for the upcoming spring semester starting in January 2024. This innovative program will help reimagine staffing for GSC clinical classes with existing staff nurses in preparation for growing its nursing program and talent pipeline. As GSC enrollment increased by nearly 50% this fall, Dr. Joyce led staffing initiatives to ensure student-to-faculty ratios are aligned. Additionally, she led the complex re-submission process for the practical nursing program with the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Prior to joining GSC two years ago, served as Director of Nursing for Medical Surgical Units at Good Samaritan Hospital and as Nurse Manager at TriHealth Evendale Hospital. She is an alumnus of Good Samaritan College of Nursing and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan, a Master of Science in Nursing from South University Online (Savannah, GA), and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Mount Saint Joseph University where her focus was Health System Leadership.
Dr. Joyce has a long history of innovative leadership and strategic thinking, coupled with a collaborative, thoughtful demeanor in the classroom and at the bedside. As a champion of the TriHealth Way of Leading, Serving and Delivering Care, she has leveraged her interpersonal leadership skills and abilities to develop relationships and foster trust with faculty, staff and students at GSC.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Joyce as she takes on this important leadership role to educate and train the best nurses in Greater Cincinnati!
