Members of the TriHealth Weight Management team participated in the Walk from Obesity event on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Indianapolis, IN. The Holy Walkamolies came in 3rd for overall fundraising and were the highlight of the event with their accessories.

Obesity is a disease that affects more individuals today than 20 years ago. Like cancer or heart disease, obesity is a combination of environment, genetics, and lifestyle, and if left untreated could be life-threatening.

Monies raised for this event supports research, education, and awareness as stated by the ASMBS foundation. The research increases the understanding of obesity, and improves quality of treatment. Education improves the medical communities understanding of obesity and provides physicians with the knowledge and tools to effectively treat patients. Awareness improves the public understanding of obesity and allows for the chance to educate individuals on effective treatments and prevention plans.

Those present in the picture are Darcy Blankenship bariatric coordinator, Angela Pennington, LPN, nurse coordinator, Jennifer Heyob, RN, program coordinator, Teresa Tynan, RN MBSAQIP data abstractor, and Lea Grieger, RN bariatric nurse. Latosha Ireland, RD bariatric dietitian and her dog cookie were also there as walkers.
