Brittany Bedel has been selected to become the next TriHealth Laboratory Director.

Since joining TriHealth in 2017, Brittany has served in increasing roles of leadership responsibility with TriHealth Laboratory Services. Prior to joining TriHealth, she held positions at the University of Cincinnati Lab and the lab at Hoxworth.

After starting her TriHealth career as the Support Services Supervisor, she moved into the Clinical Laboratory Manager role. In this role, along with her team, LIS, and other Lab leaders, Brittany guided the Good Samaritan Clinical Lab through many projects and improvements, including:

• Beckman upgrade with the move of Blood Bank to the front of the lab
• Upgrades to Electrophoresis instrumentation
• Rapid implementation and scaling of a Molecular Lab for COVID-19 testing
• Many process improvements aimed at team member and customer satisfaction and/or improvements in quality outcomes

After serving as the Clinical Lab Manager, Brittany added the system management of Anatomic Pathology (AP) to her scope. During her short time as the System AP Manager, Brittany has worked with the AP team, LIS, and other Lab Leaders to bring to life many projects, such as:

• Dragon dictation for grossing workstations
• Ultra special staining instrument upgrade
• Order entry interface for positive tracking of all pathology specimens

Brittany will assume her new role as Laboratory Director on April 25. Brittany is excited to meet and work with all of the lab team members, developing relationships to foster continued improvement for the lab, and excellent outcomes for our patients.
