October 01, 2021

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is held each October to commemorate the many and varied contributions of people with disabilities to America’s workplaces and economy. Its purpose is to educate all people about disability employment issues, such as proper workplace accommodations, accessible transportation, quality education or disability-exclusive policies, to name a few, and how they impact the lives of those in the workplace living with a disability.

NDEAM celebrates a spirit of self-determination. It’s a reminder that there is no limit to what we can achieve when everyone at work is given the opportunity to contribute their skills and talents. The theme for NDEAM 2021 – America’s Recovery: Powered by Inclusion – reflects the importance of ensuring that people with disabilities have full access to employment and community involvement during the national recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
