This week, May 16-22, 2021, we celebrate National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. We want to acknowledge the many talents and hard work of our team members, physicians and community partners working in emergency medicine over the last year, playing a vital role in The TriHealth Way of Leading, Serving and Delivering Care.
In 1974, President Gerald Ford declared the first “National Emergency Medical Services Week.” National EMS Week provides us the opportunity to recognize our team members, physicians and community partners who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line." This year’s theme, "THIS IS EMS: Caring for Our Communities," reminds us that individuals in emergency medicine are here to respond, support and care for the needs of our community every single day.
Recognizing the dedication of our team members working in emergency medicine serves as a reminder that we must never cease our efforts to build a culture of safety and work together to prevent work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths. Now more than ever, the contributions of our EMS team could not be more critical in our mission to get healthcare right for our community.
