TriHealth leaders participated in a diaper drive in support of Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, one our community partners, at the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) on November 11, 2020, As the system that delivers the most babies in our region, naturally our leaders showed up with generous support of Sweet Cheeks, donating over 17,000 diapers to families and babies in need in our community.
Megan Fischer, CEO of Sweet Cheeks, shared that our efforts were “just incredible”, resulting in their largest diaper drive of 2020. She shared pictures of the donations as they started to arrive, below, and shared that the boxes just keep coming. Sweet Cheeks works with social service agencies in Cincinnati, including TriHealth Outreach Ministries, to distribute diapers to families experiencing diaper need. Their vision is to eliminate the existence of diaper need in our community so that all babies have a chance to be healthy, happy and safe.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Sweet Cheeks has seen an exponential increase in diaper need. Since March, over 330,000 diapers have been sent into the community specifically for COVID relief. They are spending 100% more on diapers each month to make sure they can appropriately size-match kids while serving as much of the increased demand as they can, so they can serve more of the 16,000+ kids in Greater Cincinnati experiencing diaper need. “TriHealth’s support has been and continues to be completely transformational for us” says Megan. “We are so grateful to have the opportunity to work with them to end diaper need in Greater Cincinnati.”
For team members who would like to participate in the Leadership team's diaper drive to support Sweet Cheeks, they can give in one of two ways:
- Online – Purchase from the Sweet Cheeks TriHealth Amazon Wish List: https://a.co/iKDKTVQ
- In-Person – Drop new and/or opened packages of diapers at Once Upon a Child locations
So proud of the generous support to Sweet Cheeks!
