Through the Good Samaritan Foundation’s Grateful Patients and Families Program, proud parents David and Maurie Hornsby made an impactful gift through the Michael and Mary Jo Hornsby Family Charitable Foundation in honor of their daughter, Caroline, and the NICU team that cared for her.
Through their gift to the NICU, the Hornsbys are supporting the purchase of 12 new Kangaroo Chairs as well as a donation the NICU Family Resource Support Fund. Below are the Hornsby’s words that convey the meaning for their generosity:
“We are eternally grateful to everyone at Good Samaritan Hospital, because they gave us a family not just our little girl. They gave us a group of people who loved and cared for her and many who continue to love and care for her, even after her stay was over. A NICU stay truly is a lifelong journey and we now have a lifelong family. Caroline is a happy and healthy little girl who wouldn’t be alive without the amazing care from the staff of Good Sam. But it's not just the care she received, it's the care we all received that makes them stand above the rest. They made sure to listen to our concerns and always had our best interest in mind and for that we are forever grateful.”
The Grateful Patients and Families Program allows a patient or their family to make a donation in honor of a physician, nurse, or team member who made a difference and share a note of thanks.
Donations provide support for projects and services in the Good Samaritan Region.

How wonderful. Congratulations.
You hear of people being alone in the hospital during these Covid times, but people are never alone here. They are in our care.

Having 23 weeker twins who are now 9, you never forget your NICU family. Thank you for your generosity to help future NICU families. I had the best "nap times" when I was "roo'ing!" It was comforting and beneficial to hall.
