TriHealth Bridge

November 05, 2019

Recently, multiple leaders from across the system interviewed several candidates for both the System Chief for Inpatient Medicine / Hospitalists and the System Chief of Musculoskeletal / Orthopedics. The feedback on all the candidates was fantastic and underscores the deep bench of physician leadership from which TriHealth is fortunate to benefit.

I’m pleased to announce that Janee Bey, MD has been selected to fill the Inpatient Medicine/Hospitalist system Chief role and that Joseph Thomas, MD, will be returning to the role of Musculoskeletal/Orthopedics System Chief. Both Drs. Bey and Thomas assumed their new roles on November 1, 2019.

Dr. Bey joined TriHealth as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist in 2010, and during that time she has succeeded with increasing levels of leadership responsibility. She served as a Lead Hospitalist at Bethesda North from 2016-2017, and she has served as the Inpatient Medicine Chair of Patient Experience since 2017. Given that the great majority of all patients admitted into our hospitals are treated by the Inpatient Medicine team, Dr. Bey’s leadership is instrumental in delivery of care that is safe, efficient, and of exceptional quality and service. Dr. Bey earned her medical doctorate from Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Thomas has served in a variety of physician leadership roles over his 30-year career, including Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Good Sam from 1998-2000, Department Chair of Orthopedic Surgery at Bethesda North from 2006-2010, and System Chief of the Musculoskeletal Service Line at TriHealth from 2017-2018. In these roles, Dr. Thomas brought expert clinical skills and thoughtful leadership to advance clinical best practices, and we look forward to accelerating TriHealth’s musculoskeletal and orthopedic program development strategies under his leadership as System Chief. Dr. Thomas earned his medical doctorate from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

Please help me thank Drs. Bey and Thomas for their continued service to TriHealth and join me in congratulating them on their new roles.

Kevin Joseph, MD, MBA
