TriHealth Bridge

November 01, 2021

Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, is a tribute to American military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Not to be confused with Memorial Day, which honors those who died while in service, Veterans Day recognizes the fidelity and sacrifices all military veterans have made for our country, including those still with us.

This holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country's service and was initially called Armistice Day. Falling on November 11 to align with the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I, the holiday was amended to "Veterans Day" to include all veterans who gave service to our country.

Greetings, 1st there was no one at all at the lunch area as then was in the past.. @nd No mention in Marks weekly up date 9th stating that there was a free lunch that we needed a voucher prior by email to get it. This was a shinning example of the TrHealth Way! On something this simple you couldn't even get this right...

As a US Navy Vietnam Veteran, I am disappointed that a TAGS representative was not at a table outside the cafeteria at GSH to present lunch vouchers to not only team member veterans, who may have been unable to get a voucher emailed to them, but the veterans who visit their loved ones in the hospital on this day. Hopefully, going forward TAGS will have a representative at a table handing out vouchers as they have done in the past to honor veterans.

Without the brave men and women of our armed forces none of us would be able to enjoy the freedoms we have every day. Thank You to all of you that have served and are serving this GREAT country.
